Hi sammcgahon17, great question! So all drugs act in different ways generally affected cells in different ways. Some will affect cells in positive ways, whilst some will be toxic leading to the cells dying or stop functioning properly. Stem cells are actually really useful to test new drugs on before they are given to animals or people. Scientist can study how well the stem cells develop into various stem cells types in the presence and absence of the new drug.
