Hi lilpanda,
My parents definitely didn’t! I’m pretty sure they still don’t know what my job is! However I had a great science teacher who really encouraged me. I didn’t really have any role models. I think all you really need is a desire from within yourself : )
Hi lilpanda, both of my parents are involved with science in one way or another so they defineitly inspired me a little to also become a scientist. My chemistry teachers at school we also very inspiring!
Not really, I’m from rural Norfolk and neither of my parents has a scientific background (my mum is a carer and my dad is an engineer, plus I don’t think they really understand what I do!). I had some good teachers who really helped and there were some interesting stories in the news when I was going to university. I think to be honest I’ve just done what interests me and that has got me to this stage.
I don’t think my parents inspired me although they did always help and push me a lot. I guess a mixture of science programs on TV and good science teachers and enjoyment of science lessons made me want to carry on doing science.
Hi lilpanda
My parents didn’t inspire me to become a scientist – i think they helped my interest grow though. My mum wanted me to become a doctor when she had realised i liked biology but i knew i didnt want to do that so both my parents then helped (plus teachers at school) to find out what I thought I would like to do.
🙂
