• Question: How long does it take to make 1 stem cell?

      I don’t honestly know what the rate of cell division by stem cells is. I don’t think it’s very high in a resting phase, but when the cells have a need to increase in number, such as illness or injury they can do it fairly quickly. In the lab my dental stem cells divide to make two cells every 30 hours or so, other stem cells, like embryonic stem cells grow much faster but I don’t know the exact time.
