• Question: Can you grow a plant on a part of your body using stem cells?

      Hi Charlocked,
      Nope, you can’t grow plants from human or mice stem cells. Plant cells are very different. But plants have their own stem cells – have you ever done any gardening? Did you know that if you cut off a branch of a plant- it will just grow another somewhere else? This is because it also senses as a body what it needs, and uses its own stem cell-like cells to make the new branch! Its better than humans, because if we cut off our hand, we don’t grow a new one!!
