• Question: have you ever saved someone's life by working with cells (by giving them cells)?

      No I haven’t and I wish I could say I had! My work is all just in a lab and I don’t see any patients and we can’t give anyone the cells we work with in the lab.

      No it haven’t. I was once called up to donate bone marrow, but that is as close as I’ve got.

      No I haven’t. I also don’t work with patients or with anything that goes into the clinic so havent given any cells.

      And I wouldn’t want to give the cells I’m working on to people, because they definitely would do more harm than good (they are mouse cells so would be rejected by humans and they are embryonic stem cells and so might cause cancer as they are embryo cells and aren’t in the right environment)…

      No unfortunately I haven’t either. Hopefully some of my work can go toward making it possible for someone in a clinic to do this in the future!
