• Question: Whenever you make a breakthrough in your experiments like you did recently, how do you generally celebrate ?

      Thanks for the question!
      It’s important to celebrate the breakthroughs and successes, because a lot of the time, experiments don’t work and that can be very frustrating. How I celebrate depends on how big a breakthrough it is and how many hours of work I’ve put into it. Also, it depends whether it’s something that more than one person in my lab has worked on. Sometimes we go out for a meal or some drinks as a group to celebrate some work we’ve done. Other times, I’ll just go out with a few of my friends. A lot of the time experiments don’t work and when that is happening, even a small success can be an excuse to go out for a quiet drink with some friends.
