Hi safmansoor,
Biology is probably mine but I have a pet interest in Physics! I think most scientists wouldn’t say they dislike any one area of science. Actually one thing I’ve discovered recently is that there’s now way more cooperation between the different areas which is incredibly cool, like I know some physical biologists who are doing really interesting stuff like squishing cells to see how soft/hard they are!
Like Aoife and Anzy mine is also biology, but to do biology you really need to understand chemistry because biology is really just very complicated chemistry. Also like Aoife I’m quite interested in physics, I think things like quantum theory and string theory are so weird and so interesting, although I can’t say I understand a lot of it!
I have always loved Biology and Chemistry, so I therefore decided to do a Biochemistry degree at university. However, as I have got older I tendered to lean more towards Biology so I would have to say that is now my favourite. As already mentioned the three science subjects are incredibly interlinked and are all dependent on each other.
At school, I think Chemistry was my favourite, but I also loved Biology and decided to do Biochemistry at university, so that I could do a bit of both. Then while studying Biochemistry, I thought I liked the Biology stuff better than the things with more Chemistry in. Now I’m working in a lab and I’m studying far more Chemistry than I ever thought I would. But they are always mixed together when you work with cells in a lab – we can’t really only look at the Biology or only at the Chemistry.
