I’m a big fan of Alan Turing. He was one of the early computer scientists who almost started computer science and artificial intelligence really.

      Hi holly123456789

I think for me it has to be Charles Darwin, along with Alfred Russel Wallace he changed our thoughts about human being’s place in the natural world, quite an achievement. Plus he had a great beard!

I’m going to say a recent Nobel prize winner – last year Shinya Yamanaka won the Nobel prize for his work on generating induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells. What he did was take some cells (like skin cells) which can’t make any other type of cell and turn them back into embryonic-like stem cells – and these cells can make ANY type of cell in the body. Pretty amazing stuff, and he seems like a friendly man 🙂
