Science is all of what we know about the world. We know everything we know because of the curious people who have asked questions and done experiments to find answers. Some of these people discovered gravity, or what elements make up water, but others have also tried to find out how long elephants can remember things for, whether mice laugh, and whether a child will enjoy being tickled when they are 5, if they were not tickled as a baby. How cool is that!? How amazing is a world where people actually spend their time doing those pointless, but entertaining experiments?!

Science isn’t just facts that have been found by those people who did all those experiments, but is ongoing questions for us now. I come into the lab to try to answer the questions I have about embryonic stem cells and when I get results and can answer those questions that is exciting!

And science is really useful. We all work in a medical based field so we hope our research can contribute to treating disease or injury, but there’s a load of scientists out there that work on developing the next big smartphone or the next games console. So much of what is making our lives more fun and easier is down to science and the things it can bring us.

      Hi rolodex3000

Because science is the study of the world around us, I want to understand why things are the way they are, and at the moment that is how do dental stem cells work and how can we use them to help people. I think curiosity is a key thing that makes us human, we want to know more about the world and most of us want to try and understand how it works and science is key to that.
