I don’t think I’ve DEVOTED my life to science haha 😛 I do other things as well!
I do think science is cool though, and I’m glad that I’m working in science trying to find out something new. For me its a really interesting job, but I wouldn’t say I’ve devoted my entire life to science.

      Everyone’s different though!

I wouldn’t say my life is devoted to science (I’m married with 3 children so I have a lot of other things to think about!) but I do spend a lot time researching and thinking about ways to solve the problems we are facing in our work. The reason I spend the time I do is because the work is so interesting, there are so many new things to try and new things to see that I think I would be bored if I didn’t do this work! In fact I was a sales rep for a year before I got this job and one of my biggest problems with the work was boredom and frustration that other people got to do research and I didn’t. The other reason is that we get to make a difference to people’s lives. I wanted to be a doctor at one point, but the thought of blood put me off, doing science is my way of making a difference in a similar way to a doctor, without the blood and guts!

Hahaha I certainly haven’t devoted my life to science just yet! I’m only 26 and have only done science at a university for 7 years so far! And I enjoy doing other things outside of work time too. I really enjoy working in science, but I don’t think I will ever fully devote my life to any job. I get so much more enjoyment from my friends and my hobbies, so I could not become a workaholic who devotes their life to one thing.
